FOSWS (Friends of Sebert Wood School) are a small group of parents/carers who get together to raise funds for the school (more commonly known as a PTA).  All profits made from our events go back into the school to help with additional purchases which benefit all the children whilst they have fun along the way.

Our current Chair is Nina Dallorzo

Vice Chair is Debra Peachey

Secretary is Liz Rahim

Treasurer is Kathryn Watts

Our events are a lot of fun and very rewarding to see the children enjoying themselves.  There is a lot of hard work and organisation going into each event.  The main events are the Christmas and Summer Fairs, discos, cake sales, to name but a few.  We also help the school with sponsored events.

This year we have funded the new Reception garden and playground paintings, paid for year 2 to go to the Pantomime at the Theatre Royal, subsidised school trips (which we do every year), various pieces of sports equipment i.e. table tennis table and many other  exciting projects throughout the School.

If you’d like to get involved, even for just half an hour at an event, please email  We meet on the first Monday of each month to discuss and prepare for events and also ways to spend the money for the school.

FOSWS Update

Our annual Sebert Wood Christmas Fair this year is on Friday 30th November at 3.45pm – 6.30pm. There will be lots of exciting stalls, festive craft activities and fun games. As in previous years, there will be a raffle to win one of the eight luxury hampers created by each year group (details of this are below) and an opportunity for the children to meet Father Christmas in his grotto! There will be two festive crafts for the children to make this year, which you will be able to do at your leisure on your way around the Fair.

Luxury Hampers and Raffle Tickets

For many years now it has been a Christmas Fair tradition that year groups put together a luxury hamper, to be raffled on the day of the Fair. We ask parents and carers for a donation for this and historically items have included anything from candles, tinsel, bottles, toiletries and small non-perishable food items etc. Each year group has a colour theme and this Christmas, these are as follows:

Nursery – Gold and Silver Reception – Red & Silver

Year 1 – Green & Gold Year 2 – Blue & Silver

Year 3 – Purple & Black Year 4 – Black & Gold

Year 5 – Red and Green Year 6 – Red and Gold

Donations will need to be handed directly to your child’s year group by Wednesday 21st November to enable them to assemble these wonderful hampers. As a thank you for your kind donations, the children will be able to dress down on the day of the Fair. Due to the high demand for raffle tickets, FOSWS will be issuing these via the book bags later next month.

Cake Sale

The Christmas Fair will of course have a cake sale, and this year the donations will be requested from Years 2 and 3. These cakes can be as festive as you like! Further details will be provided in due course.

External Vendors

This year we have decided to include external vendors at the Fair who can offer something in addition to our proposed stalls and ask anyone who is interested in having a stall, or knows anyone that would like to have one, to contact FOSWS ( ASAP.

We thank you in advance for supporting the Christmas Fair as it raises a significant amount of money, which goes a long way in enhancing your child’s school experience.
