World War II Week - Year 6

 BSP Leadership Team

Year 5 School Council representatives from Sebert Wood join the Leadership team at King Edward Upper School on Wednesday 13 January.

JRSO's - GOLD Award Winners

On Friday 26th June we went to Endeavour House in Ipswich for a JRSO award ceremony. Lots of JRSO's from all over Suffolk went. We got to sit in the council chamber at the desks where we had our own microphones. We listened to some other schools tell us what they had done and some asked questions. After that they gave out the gold, silver and bronze awards in alphabetical order so Sebert Wood was right near the end. We were really really surprised and shocked when we got gold due to our scrapbook showing everything we had done. When we went up to the front to get our certificates the councillor said "Congratulations Amelia. Well Done Daisy," and "Great work Daniel." He shook our hands and then a photographer took our photo.

When the ceremony ended we went right to the top of the building and saw Portman Road. It was really fun. Then we came back to school with Mr Dewhurst and Mrs Rutter.

Tuesday 3 March - Suffolk’s Year of Cycling

On Tuesday morning, Mr Dewhurst, Eleanor Walters from Year 4, Cameron Titchiner from Year 4 and Lucy Walters from Year 2 represented Sebert Wood at the official launch of Suffolk's Year of Cycling at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds. A whole range of events and activities will be taking place across Suffolk and Sebert Wood, along with other schools in Bury St Edmunds are going to be involved in a brand new cycle training programme which is being funded through the Year of Cycling. At the exciting launch event the children were photographed for the press and interviewed for BBC Suffolk. More details about the cycling project here at Sebert Wood will follow but for details about the Year of Cycling, follow the link http://www.suffolkyearofcycling.co.uk/
