Weekly Update - 02.02.2018

We have had a brilliant morning doing our fitness activities, it was loud and we were all worn out by the end but it was alot of fun! We joined the key stage 1 children for an assembly and met Sean Rose, the GB Para - Olympian too.

Sunshine Class have enjoyed our week focussed on the story The Jolly Postman and we have written our own postcards, planted cress and found out about the journey of a letter. On Tuesday we walked to The Post Office to see for ourselves what we would need to set up a Post Office in our classroom. The children were all so well behaved especially the first group ; everyone in Moreton Hall seemed to have a parcel to send and we therefore waited a little while to speak to the Post Mistress! Everyone commented on how sensible they were. We sent Rainbow Class a letter and were very impressed when it arrived the following day! Rainbow Class will be going to visit the Post Office on Tuesday next week.

Rainbow Class have designed their own Super Veggies and finally caught The Evil Pea so we should now all be free from disruption! They wrote speech bubbles describing their characters too.

This week we have noticed that many of the children have not had their word envelopes or phonics books in their bookbags; please can you ensure these are in their bookbags all the time so we can practice at school and give new letters and words. We have asked the children to hold their water bottles because we have had some spliages when children have stored their waterbottles in their bags.

Next Wednesday is Safer Internet day and we will be thinking about how we can be safe in all situations and who we can speak to if we are worried.

Next week is Miss Thorpe’s last week with us, we think she has enjoyed her placement and we will all certainly miss her!

After half term we would like the children to come into school independently, we have some children who want to come into school by themselves but are having to battle through buggies and adults to do so. Mrs Reynolds is always at the door to take any messages which she writes down and these ALWAYS get back to the Teachers. If you have any queries or want to speak to a teacher let her know and we will contact you.

Finally, a request from Mrs Reynolds can we please have any kitchen rolls tubes for us to use.

Have a lovely weekend
