Healthy Packed Lunches
Please provide items that your child can open independently and avoid foods that are hard to manage. It is helpful if you make a snip in the wrapper of tightly packaged items.
We encourage healthy eating and have set a few guidelines for the content of packed lunches. These have been established for the benefit of all children and follow government advice:
- Some children at school have nut allergies so we ask that no nuts or products containing nuts (e.g. peanut butter, nut bars) are included. This also includes chocolate spread which often contains a nut product.
- Sweets, including chocolate, should not be sent in as part of a packed lunch. (A single chocolate covered biscuit bar is fine).
- Novelty foods are not suitable for a packed lunch (e.g. cheese strings).
- Still drinks only please – no fizzy drinks, glass containers or hot drinks.
