Weekly Update – 29.03.2018
The Spring Term has drawn to a sunny close and we have been busy finishing off some of our projects and themes. All of the children have now completed their rainforest animal soft toys. The results are so lovely that we have put them on display; so you will need to wait a little longer before they come home!
Our Science topic of ‘Rocks and Soils’ will continue into next term, before we move onto studying Plants. In RE, we will be considering the idea of kings and kingdoms before moving onto learning about the Kingdom of God and what this means to Christians.
Outside PE will continue on Wednesdays, so please make sure kit is back in school, including a plastic bag for muddy trainers and hairbands to tie back long hair. Our indoor PE session will be replaced by swimming on a Tuesday; some reply slips are still outstanding! Our main theme for Humanities in the Summer Term is Stone Age to Iron Age.
We will be visiting the School Farm and Country Fair on Thursday 19th April. If you have not returned the permission slip, please do so as soon as you can! We cannot take your child on the trip without your permission! Also remember that whilst school uniform MUST be worn, your child will need appropriate footwear for potentially muddy conditions, as well as a packed lunch, water bottle and waterproof coat. There are no facilities to store bags, so please provide a backpack that all of their things will fit into!
Easter Homework is to find and learn a poem ready to recite to a small group or peers – information is on yellow paper in bookbags.
We hope you have a lovely Easter break and look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday 17th April.
