Maximising the impact of TA's
Since September 2017 the school has been involved in a research project and training programme based in Suffolk but led by the University of London, Institute of Education and the Education Endowment Foundation. The project has involved 128 schools from across the UK in researching innovative approaches to how Teaching Assistants can be best deployed in order to enable pupils to make maximum progress.
In school we have set up a working group consisting of the Headteacher, the SENCo, Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Governors who have overseen the project.
We are now into our second year and will be reviewing the successes and areas to develop based on the findings of national research and our findings in school. The training we have received has been a great way of improving the partnership between Teachers and Teaching Assistants, focussing on developing pupils independence in their learning.
